Four-Star Running Back Aiden Gibson Commits To Penn State Football

Class of 2027 four-star running back Aiden Gibson has committed to Penn State football, he announced live on CBS Sports College Football’s YouTube channel Tuesday night.

The Woodruff, South Carolina native is tabbed as the No. 8 player in the state, No. 22 running back in the Class of 2027, and No. 322 player nationally, per 247Sports’ Composite rankings. He’s rushed 599 times for 3,391 yards and 52 touchdowns in his high school career, per his MaxPreps profile. That’s 119.1 yards per game, folks. He also has 70 receptions for 1,101 yards and 10 touchdowns.

“Tall and powerful running back that has a chance to be a bell cow on Saturdays with his contact balance, lateral quickness and chops as a pass-catcher,” 247Sports director of scouting Andrew Ivins wrote. “Built for inside work as he hits the hole with authority and can find leverage despite being a naturally up-right runner.”

Gibson is Savon Huggins’ first running back commit in Penn State’s 2027 recruiting class. He is the Nittany Lions’ fifth-highest rated recruit in the class as well.

Gibson chose Penn State over North Carolina, Rutgers, South Carolina, and Louisville. Folks can check out the newest Nittany Lion’s Hudl highlights here.
