Former Penn State Football Players Recieve First NFL Jersey Numbers & Contracts

Fifteen former Penn State football players are heading into the NFL. As they begin their rookie seasons, players are assigned new jersey numbers.
While these are just their first numbers and cuts and roster changes may change them, we decided to take a look at what they chose.
Vega Ioane – No. 71
First-round draft pick Vega Ioane is keeping his college number and will wear No. 71 for the Ravens.
Ioane also signed a four-year, $24.23 million fully guaranteed contract with Baltimore, along with a $14.06 million signing bonus.
Nick Dawkins – No. 53
Ioane is not the only former Penn State player who joined the Ravens, though. Nick Dawkins signed as an undrafted free agent and will be wearing No. 53.
He signed a three-year, $3.11 million contract and a $10,000 signing bonus and will be fighting for a spot on the roster this summer.
Dom Deluca – No. 42
Dom Deluca also joined the Ravens as an undrafted free agent, signing a three-year, $1.115 million contract with a $15,000 signing bonus.
He will make the switch from No. 0 in college to No. 42 in the NFL.
Drew Allar – No. 16
Former Penn State quarterback Drew Allar was drafted by the Ravens’ long-time rival, the Pittsburgh Steelers.
He will wear No. 16, one higher than his college number. Allar signed a four-year, $7.103 million rookie contract and will fight for a starting position.
Allar’s reasoning behind the number is still unknown.
Drew Shelton – No. 67
The other third round from Penn State, Drew Shelton, is wearing No. 67 for the Cowboys. Like Allar, he went one higher than his college number. He signed a four-year, $5.57 million rookie contract with a $1.95 million signing bonus.
Dani Dennis-Sutton – No. 51
Fourth-round pick Dani Dennis-Sutton will wear No. 51 this season for the Green Bay Packers. His contract is four years, $5.514 million, and a $1.134 million signing bonus.
Zakee Wheatley – No. 38
Former Penn State safety Zakee Wheatley will wear No. 38. He signed a four-year, $4.89 million contract, which included a $510,452 signing bonus.
Nick Singleton – No. 32
Running back Nick Singleton will wear No. 32 for the Titans. He signed a four-year, $4.814 million contract.
Kaytron Allen – No. 31
Singleton’s former partner in the backfield, Kaytron Allen, will wear No. 31 for the Washington Commanders. Allen received a four-year, $4.68 million contract.
Zane Durant – No. 92
Newly drafted defensive tackle Zane Durant will wear No. 92 for Buffalo. Durant signed a four-year, $4.75 million contract with the Bills with a $379,476 signing bonus.
Trebor Peña – No. 86
Wide receiver Trebor Peña will wear No. 86 for the Jacksonville Jaguars. Peña signed a three-year, $3.12 million contract with a $20,000 signing bonus.
Devonte Ross – No. 24
Devonte Ross will make the switch from No. 5 to No. 24 for the Chargers after he signed a three-year, $3.11 million contract with a $10,000 signing bonus.
Nolan Rucci – No. 76
Nolan Rucci is wearing No. 76 for the Colts. He signed a 3-year, $3.12 million contract with a $20,000 signing bonus.
Khalil Dinkins – No. 82
Tight end Khalil Dinkins will wear No. 82 for the 49ers after he signed a three-year, $3.1 million contract.
Tyler Duzansky – No. 46
Tyler Duzansky will wear No. 46 for the Raiders. The former Penn State player signed a three-year, $3.11 million contract with a $10,000 signing bonus.
