Five Pickleball Courts Open In Pegula Ice Arena For Summer

Pickleball is back in Pegula Ice Arena for part of the summer, per the Penn State Athletics website. The Nittany Lions ice hockey rink will have five courts, which are open for reservation seven days a week.

Courts are $18 for one hour, Monday through Friday, or $24 on Saturdays and Sundays. Only four players are allowed per court. Folks can check availability and rent the courts here. Once you arrive at the facility for your reserved time, make sure to check in at the skate rental desk before playing.

Penn State will also host learn-to-play pickleball classes for beginners. The classes will teach the rules of the game and different hitting techniques. Courses started May 19 and will run through June 3 on Tuesday and Wednesday from 6 to 7 p.m. You must register in advance on the website.

While the courts can only be booked until May 31, it is unclear how long they will remain open to the public.
