Lime-Green Bike Lanes Added To Foster Avenue In State College

Lime-green Bike lanes were painted on Foster Avenue in State College last week, with dashed green pavement at intersections.

The move, borough spokesperson Jessi Blanarik told the Centre Daily Times, is to improve pedestrian safety and make the existing bike lanes more visible.

“The application of the green markings on Foster Avenue is the first in the borough and is a trial run,” Blanarik told the Centre Daily Times. “There is currently no set timeline for future implementation. However, if this trial run is successful, additional locations may be included as projects get budgeted for completion.”

Foster Avenue runs parallel to Beaver Avenue, just one street over in some areas. Off-campus student housing options such as Foster Arms Apartments and East Side Apartments are on the street.
