Class Of 2027 Long Snapper Clayton Powell Commits To Penn State Football

Unranked class of 2027 long snapper Clayton Powell has committed to Penn State football, he announced on Monday.
The Lake Charles, Louisiana, native is unranked according to 247Sports composite rankings, but is a 4.5-star on Kohl’s Kicking, and the No. 17 long snapper in the class.
“Powell made a strong impression at the 2025 Kohl’s National Scholarship Camp with his quick release and tight spiral,” the website wrote. “He finished the charting phase of camp with an average snap time of .68 seconds and the 5th highest charting score in the country for the 2027 class.”
Powell joins the No. 14 recruiting class in the country, per 247Sports. Coming from Louisiana, he is the 13th individual state represented in the Nittany Lions’ 2027 recruiting class.
The long snapper took an official visit to Penn State from June 5 to June 7.
Powell chose the Nittany Lions over Arkansas and McNeese State. To see what he will bring to Happy Valley, watch his highlights here.
