Penn State Baseball’s Michael Anderson Named To NCBWA All-America Second Team

Michael Anderson continues to do it, folks.
The Havertown, PA senior was named to the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association All-America Second Team as a designated hitter, the association announced Wednesday.
Anderson received the recognition after starting 50 games in the DH slot for the Nittany Lions this season. Here, he tabbed a batting average of .358, a slugging percentage of .742, 68 hits, 141 total bases, 11 doubles, 20 home runs, and 53 RBI.
He was one of two players in Division 1 baseball to average 414+ feet across his 20 home runs, which set a Penn State record. Likewise, his slugging percentage and total bases ranked fourth in program history.
Anderson most recently earned first-team All-Big Ten and All-Region honors. He’s the first Nittany Lion to be named an All-American since Ben Heath in 2010.
