Class of 2028 kicker Carter Petri has committed to Penn State football, he announced Saturday.

The Buffalo, New York native is rated 4.5 stars and the No. 9 kicker in the Class of 2028 on Kohl’s Kicking. At a Cleveland, Ohio training camp in July 2025, Petri had an average distance of 62 yards on kickoffs with a hang time of 3.46 seconds. He also booted an average of 30 yards on punts with a 4.10-second hang time.

Petri is Penn State’s second commit in its young Class of 2028, joining four-star cornerback Deonte Flemings Jr. He committed to the Nittany Lions just three days after receiving his offer on June 17.
