First Look At New Penn State Football Adidas Uniform

Out with the old, in with the new.

On the day it switched from Nike to Adidas, the ‘new’ Penn State football uniforms have been unofficially revealed.

Per a photo posted on X by Inside the Lions’ Audrey Snyder, the uniforms will remain almost identical to the Nike ones from the previous season. The only apparent differences are a breathable, elastic mesh around the collar and a seam running down the middle of the jersey from the Nittany Lion logo.

Separated collars and sleeves also allow Adidas to continue the recent tradition of throwback jerseys with the white collar if they choose to.

Adidas overtook all of Penn State’s athletics and apparel after the two entities inked an unprecedented 10-year deal in September. Nike has served as Penn State’s apparel provider since 1993. The company’s founder and CEO, Phil Knight, grew close with Joe Paterno in the 90’s.

Penn State is Adidas’ first major stake in the Big Ten after its deal with Tennessee landed it a big brand in the SEC. Other Big Ten teams with Adidas apparel include Indiana, Nebraska, and Washington. Maybe some of that Indiana charm will rub off on the Nittany Lions.

It’s a literal whole new era for Penn State football. James Franklin is gone, Matt Campbell is determined to return the program to glory, and the Nittany Lions will now sport the finest garments Adidas has to offer. Too bad they didn’t roll with any of our options, though.

An official jersey release could happen at any time.
