Class of 2028 Catherine McCool has committed to Penn State women’s hockey; she announced on Saturday via Instagram.

The 16-year-old forward recently represented the United States at the 2026 U18 Women’s World Championship, where the team won gold and went an undefeated 6-0-0-0 throughout the tournament.

In her time as a member of the Boston Americans Hockey Club, McCool tallied a team-leading 66 points with 41 goals in just 39 games.

The Boston native also competed in this year’s U16 Tier I National Tournament, where she excelled, racking up 12 points in five games while being named to the Tier I Nationals All-Tournament team.

McCool joins Adie Schneider as the program’s first two class of 2028 commits.
