Penn State Wrestling To Host Northern Colorado On February 19

Penn State wrestling will host Northern Colorado at Rec Hall on Friday, February 19, Northern Colorado’s schedule reveal showed on Monday.

It will be the first-ever meeting between the two programs and will take place towards the end of the season. As an official schedule has yet to be released by the Nittany Lions, it’s too early to tell if the matchup will be Senior Day and the final home dual meet.

The timing closely matches the recent trend of hosting non-conference opponents to close the regular season in American, Edinboro, and Princeton over the last three seasons.

The Bears are coming off a rough season, going 3-10 in dual meets and finishing 14th and dead last in the Big 12 at March’s Big 12 Championships.

They had two NCAA qualifiers, going 1-3 combined, with the graduating Dominick Serrano claiming the only victory. Now a member of the rebuilt Pac-12, Northern Colorado will look to build a new identity in 2026-27.

Northern Colorado is Penn State’s ninth confirmed dual opponent for the 2026-27 season, but the first to have a confirmed date.

An announcement in June revealed Penn State’s eight confirmed Big Ten opponents for the year, but no dates have been announced for those or any other non-conference dual.
