UPUA’s 21st Assembly Met For Its First Meeting Of The Semester

The 21st Assembly of the University Park Undergraduate Association (UPUA) is officially in session for the fall 2026 semester.
The meeting opened with an open student forum and special presentations, during which Mark Brown, a fourth-year student and former at-large representative, offered motivational words to current UPUA representatives.
This was followed by a presentation by President Kat Hogan on the 21st Assembly Expectations, which detailed some of the current representatives’ requirements.
After this, the Department of Internal Inclusion & Support gave a presentation introducing themselves and explaining who they are and what they do within UPUA. They center on providing members a space to voice their concerns, building connections between alumni and current and past students, and paying greater attention to diversity and inclusion within UPUA.
Lastly, there was a presentation on Parliamentary Procedure within UPUA.
Following reports from President Kat Hogan and Vice President Maria Lopez, the assembly moved into confirmations and swearing-ins.
Confirmations & Swearing-Ins
The first confirmation of the night was for Executive Director of Public Relations, Seemal Zubair. Next was the confirmation of Olivia Sarsfield, Executive Director of Physical Resources.
Following this, the assembly swore in

- Director of Internal Culture: Nicole Schulz
- Director of Professional Development: Krishna Gupta
- Deputy Director of Finance: Jaden Quinones
- Executive Director of Public Relations: Seemal Zubiar
- Executive Staff for ABTS: Anish Amin
- Webmaster: Daniela Cruz
- Deputy Director of Public Relations: Lindsay Freedman
- Executive Director of Physical Resources: Olivia Sarsfield
New Business
A sample bill was introduced to practice voting and rules of procedure.
After reports from the Chief Justice, the Chief of Staff, the Speaker of the Assembly, the Vice Speaker, and the committee reports, the meeting was adjourned.
