The Penn State School of Music is set to host the “Music in the Gardens” concert in the Arboretum at 6 p.m. on Thursday, September 10.

The concert will feature the Penn State Symphonic Wind Ensemble and conductor Tonya Mitchell-Spradlin in a diverse program.

The Penn State School of Music invites community members, students, faculty, and visitors to enjoy music in a “picturesque setting.” The event is free.

“Guests are encouraged to arrive early to enjoy family-friendly activities before the performance,” Penn State School of Music said in a press release. “Food trucks will begin serving at 4 p.m. while an instrument petting zoo in the Children’s Garden will give children and families the opportunity to explore and interact with a variety of musical instruments.”

Folks attending the concert should bring chairs or blankets to best enjoy the experience. No seating will be provided.

If you arrive early, students from the State College Music Academy will also perform around the Arboretum before the scheduled event.
