Penn State Football Ranked No. 14 In Week 2 AP Poll
Penn State football has been ranked No. 14 in the Week 2 AP Poll, the Associated Press announced Sunday. It’s a two-spot move from No. 16 following Week 1.
The Nittany Lions beat Temple 27-9 in Philadelphia on Saturday to keep their undefeated start intact.
Penn State faced some adversity through the first half. Ryan Barker had a rare field goal miss, Rocco Becht wasn’t as sharp as he was against Marshall, and the running game sputtered to get going once again. The Nittany Lions rallied around a late Benjamin Brahmer touchdown to end the first half and scored 27 unanswered points to pull out the win.
Penn State has kept itself ahead in the win column in the Big Ten. Ohio State dropped to No. 6 from No. 1 after choking to now-No. 1 Texas on Saturday night. Now-No. 21 Oregon shockingly fell to Oklahoma State 39-31 after the Cowboys lost to Tulsa in Week 1.
Other ranked Big Ten schools include No. 4 Indiana, No. 12 USC, and No. 19 Michigan. Michigan is back in the Top 25 after edging out now-No. 24 Oklahoma.
The Nittany Lions are set to face USC, Michigan, and Washington later in the season.
Penn State returns home to finish out non-conference play against Buffalo at noon on Saturday, September 19, at Beaver Stadium. Folks can watch the game on Big Ten Network.
