Penn State Football Enters Buffalo Game As Favorites For Third Consecutive Week

Another week, another favorite.

Penn State football will host the Buffalo Bulls in Happy Valley for Week 3 of college football. The Bulls enter Saturday boasting a 1-1 record, following a 33-20 loss at FIU.

Similar to the Nittany Lions, the Bulls have a running back room problem early in the season. At FIU, they didn’t average over four yards per carry and totaled only 62 yards.

However, wide receiver Chance Morrow was a problem for FIU’s secondary, catching 11 passes for 170 yards and two touchdowns.

No. 14 Penn State opens as favorites for Saturday’s matchup, according to DraftKings Sportsbook. No moneyline is available, but Penn State carries a spread of -41.5 at -102 odds. The market favors Penn State 98%.

The over/under is set at 50.5.

The Nittany Lions have failed to cover the spread in their last six games as a top-15 AP-ranked squad and are 1-1 against the spread this season. Buffalo, meanwhile, is 0-2 against the spread, with an average line of -9.5.

In their last matchup in 2019, Penn State dominated the Bulls 45-13. In that game, Sean Clifford threw for 279 yards and four touchdowns. In all-time matchups, the Nittany Lions are 2-0 against Buffalo, with both games played at Beaver Stadium.

For the second week in a row, Penn State has jumped in the AP Poll, this time to No. 14. Their National Championship odds have dropped from +5000 last week to +6000 this week, among the likes of Tennessee (+5000), Florida (+7000), and Michigan (+7400).
