Penn State Women’s Volleyball Alumna Jess Mruzik Named 2026 Women’s Pan American Cup MVP
Penn State women’s volleyball alumna and current League One Volleyball outside hitter Jess Mruzik has been named the 2026 Women’s Pan American Cup MVP, leading Team USA to its first gold medal since 2019.
Mruzik had 52 kills on a .288 hitting efficiency and one ace through six matches. The U.S. Women’s National Team finished 5-1, with 3-0 wins over Cuba, Costa Rica, and Guatemala and a 3-1 loss to Mexico in pool play.
The team then defeated Puerto Rico 3-1 in the semifinals and swept the Dominican Republic to claim their eighth gold medal.
Mruzik played three seasons of collegiate volleyball with Michigan before joining Penn State for her final two.
She has 2,030 kills, 114 service aces, 1192 digs, and 261 blocks across her collegiate career and was named Most Outstanding Player in 2024 after Penn State secured its eighth National Championship.
Mruzik signed with LOVB Houston in 2024 and recorded 176 kills in the league’s inaugural season and 183 in year two.
Fellow 2024 champion Gillian Grimes will join Mruzik and two-time Penn State national champion (2014, 2015) Micha Hancock in Houston for LOVB’s third season, which begins in December.
