Penn State Men’s Soccer Player Fredrick Grundin No Longer With Team For ‘Violation Of Team Rules’

Penn State men’s soccer goalkeeper Fredrick Grundin is no longer with the team after violating team rules, a Penn State Athletics spokesperson confirmed Wednesday.
“Goalkeeper Fredrick Grundin has been dismissed from the Penn State men’s soccer program following a violation of team rules,” the spokesperson told Onward State. “We wish him the best in his future endeavors.”
It’s unclear what led to Grundin’s dismissal.
A native of Taby, Sweden, Grundin has been a member of the team since 2023 and appeared in seven games over two seasons. The goalkeeper made nine saves in his career for the Nittany Lions while allowing 10 goals.
His absence may create opportunities for the team’s other goalkeepers to back up current starter Daniel Peluffo-Weise.
Grundin did not appear in the 2026 season.
