Report: Former Penn State Running Back Kaytron Allen Claimed By Miami Dolphins

Former Penn State football running back Kaytron Allen has been claimed off waivers by the Miami Dolphins, according to Adam Schefter.
Allen was released by the Washington Commanders on Thursday.
Allen was taken by the Commanders in the sixth round of the 2026 NFL Draft but struggled to separate himself in a loaded backfield featuring Jacory Croskey-Merritt, Rachaad White, and Austin Ekeler.
In his four appearances with the team, Allen had rushed for 41 yards on 12 carries. He also went viral for running into teammate Sam Cosmi’s neck area during a Week 2 matchup against the Dallas Cowboys.
The Dolphins should provide Allen a better chance at getting touches after their starting running back De’Von Achane’s season ended with an injury.
Jaylen Wright and Ollie Gordon II handled most of the carries in Week 4.
In Happy Valley, Allen rushed for a program-record 4,180 yards. In 2025, he had a stellar 1,303-yard, 15-touchdown season.
