Penn State Field Hockey Player Camryn Standish Named Big Ten Defensive Player Of The Week

Penn State field hockey player Camryn Standish has been named the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week, the conference announced Monday.
The award marks Standish’s first Big Ten weekly award and the second Nittany Lion to earn the defensive honor. Junior goalie Aby Deverka also received Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week earlier this season.
Standish played a huge role in the Nittany Lions’ two shutout victories over Michigan State and Kent State.
The Ohio State transfer played 108 minutes and helped Penn State allow just eight shots against in the two wins, none of which hit the goal. Standish was also the Nittany Lions’ primary penalty-corner inserter.
Standish and the rest of the Nittany Lions will next take the field against the Ohio State Buckeyes on Friday at 5 p.m. as part of a two-game home stand.
Big Ten Network will stream the game for folks unable to attend.
