Penn State Women’s Hockey Falls To No. 5 In USCHO Poll

One-spot drop.
Penn State women’s hockey has fallen to No. 5 in the USCHO Division I Women’s Poll, the organization announced on Monday.
The Nittany Lions moved to 3-3 on the season after splitting a series with Syracuse at the Tennity Ice Pavilion in Syracuse, New York.
Penn State dropped the opening game on Friday, 5-4, in an overtime thriller. The Orange held two separate two-goal leads, but the Nittany Lions fought back both times before falling in overtime.
The second game was more in line with what Penn State is used to in AHA conference play, as it won 4-0. Nicole Hall scored two goals, and eight different Nittany Lions recorded points in the win.
Penn State is currently battling through the absences of both Grace Outwater and Abby Stonehouse, who are away from the team from October 8 to 14 for Team Canada Women’s Team Training Camp.
Both players are key to the Nittany Lions offense.
Penn State will continue AHA play with a home series against Linenwood on Friday and Saturday. The Friday game is set for 2 p.m., and the Saturday one is at noon.
Big Ten Plus will air both games for folks unable to make it.
