An Open Letter To Mt. Joy: Please Host A Concert At Penn State

Rock band Mt. Joy recently appeared on Bert Kreischer’s cooking-and-comedy web series “Something’s Burning,” where Kreischer asked if they had ever been to Penn State. The band said no.
Mt. Joy, I think you should host a concert at Penn State and change that answer. I need it.
Now, I will be studying abroad in the spring, so I would appreciate it if said concert is sometime in fall 2027, but either way, State College would be a perfect place to perform.
On the show, Kreischer talked about drinking pitchers of a grape cocktail at a bar — likely a dirty Sprite from Champs — and about State College letting him appreciate being on tour.
Mt. Joy, when you are next on tour, Penn State is a great place to stop.
For starters, State College is a vibrant, lively town, and I think many students and residents would be excited to welcome you. There are plenty of outdoor venues to perform, which I think would be a great fit for an indie-rock band like you.
It could be similar to Mojo Fest, which is always a hit.
Fall in Happy Valley is one of the best times of the year. With the foliage, weather, and environment, it’s basically perfect for an outdoor concert. As Kreischer described, it’s fun to come to the bars, and college kids always appreciate a concert.
One thing I would recommend is not doing it during a home football weekend, but any other time is great.
State College has hosted countless other artists like Drake, Travis Scott, Zach Bryan, The Chainsmokers, Ella Langley, Zara Larson, Don Toliver, Luke Combs, Lil Wayne, and more.
I think adding Mt. Joy to that list would be pretty amazing, for you and for us.
Mt. Joy, I really enjoy your music, and I’ve never seen you live. If you can come do a State College concert, it’ll be awesome, and I’ll be there.
