Your Official Penn State-Michigan Drinking Game

It’s almost gameday in the Big House, folks!

Penn State football takes on Michigan on Saturday, with both teams looking for their first Big Ten win of the 2026 season. The last time the Nittany Lions beat Michigan was 27-17 in Ann Arbor, Michigan, in 2020.

After a rainy White Out, Happy Valley weather looks sunny but chilly Saturday, with a high of only 51 degrees Fahrenheit. What better way to embrace the weather than suiting up with your friends to watch some football (and have a few drinks, of course).

Here’s your official Penn State-Michigan drinking game:

  • To begin, it’s gameday. What is better than a Penn State gameday? Nothing. Take your first shot!
  • It’s Homecoming in Ann Arbor, folks. If you are seeing way too many Michigan fans, take a shot.
  • If the broadcast mentions maize and white, take a sip because blue and white is significantly better.
  • Every time the live broadcast from home brings up the 2022 matchup, take a shot. We would also like to forget that one.
  • If you hear someone call the game the Disappointment Bowl, take a shot. We all wish the conditions were different.
  • If you see a Penn State fan wearing white, take a sip.
    • Heck, if they’re wearing blue Penn State gear, take a sip and congratulate them on the commitment.
  • If Penn State gets a penalty, take a sip; you’ll need it.
  • If Michigan gets a penalty, that’s another shot! We love penalties on the opposing team.
  • If Matt Campbell calls a timeout, take a sip. You might be questioning the decision later.
  • If Penn State sacks Bryce Underwood, take a shot.
  • If Michigan sacks Rocco Becht, take a double shot and forget it happened.
  • If the Michigan students decide to remind us how much they hate us… take a sip. Our student section is named the best in the country for a reason.
  • If you hear the ‘We Are’ chant, take a sip and respond back!
  • If the referees are officially reviewing a play, take a sip and let’s hope for some good news. NO PHANTOM SECONDS.
  • If the game ends without Michigan needing an extra second, chug the rest of your drink.
  • If Penn State wins, take a LONGGGGG sip; we’ve been waiting for this one!

As always, drink responsibly and enjoy the game.
