UPUA Debate Offers Drama, Little Substance

Presidential candidate David Adewumi had a good point when he said that most of the student body wasn't attending last night's debate, and that the majority of people who were had already made up their minds as to who they were voting for. And he was right: clearly divided sections of supporters indicated their choice by the brightly-colored shirts they wore.

Yesterday, Onward State took advantage of Facebook's spiffy new poll feature to ask our followers about the UPUA presidential election. So far, we've received 567 votes, which isn't very much at all in terms of the whole Penn State undergraduate community. But for our organization which is only two years old, we think it's pretty cool.

UPUA Funds More Projects in Final Meeting

Though overshadowed by election news, the 5th Assembly of the University Park Undergraduate Association met for the last time Wednesday night. The General Assembly meeting began before a packed house in 302 HUB. It was a time for seniors to give fond farewells, and for others to look forward to what the 6th Assembly might bring.

UPUA Board of Arbitration Overturns Elections Commission Decision

The presidential election for the University Park Undergraduate Association has, as of last night, become a four-way race. The UPUA's Board of Arbitration ruled in favor of an appeal filed by David Adewumi and Sri Pisupati, whose ticket had been declared ineligible by the UPUA Elections Commission. After the Board ruled, 5 to 3, in their favor, the Elections Commission dropped its case against the other ticket it had also declared ineligible, Joseph Grimes and Tyler Wentz.
