Wiz Khalifa will be making his first large-scale appearance in State College later this spring when he plays a concert at the Jordan Center in late April. Pittsburgh's Black and Yellow star has performed in State College before, but his appearance on April 26 will be the largest to date. Looks like it's going to be a good spring for music in State College. Let's just hope Movin' On rounds it out by giving us the spring concert that Penn State deserves.
The LION 90.7fm WKPS is up for the 2011 mtvU Woodie Award for the Best College Radio Station. The mtvU Woodie Awards are an annual awards show catered to the college music market, featuring categories like 'Woodie of the Year' and 'Breaking Woodie.'
President Zach Zimbler says that last year, the radio station placed in the top 10 but did not walk away with the big prize. He's hard set on getting them to finish first this year though. Check out the teaser they made to promote the award (spoiler alert: 'Woodie' puns are enthusiastically embraced).

This evening John Orsini-- a star of this winter's hit Death to Greek Life-- tweeted the following:

I cannot be the only one who would like to see a sequel... am I?
Former Penn State trustee and State College raconteur Ben Novak was featured on InsideAcademia.tv, an online radio program about higher education. The program was started by Andy Nash, a Penn State alum himself. Novak's conversation with Nash centers around the history of fraternities at Penn State. Pretty interesting stuff. Check it out after the jump.
THON is coming up quickly and campus is buzzing with preparations for next weekend's 46-hour dance marathon... I can't wait. For people like me-- snarkers and bloggers and journalists too-- THON is the year's most fun endurance event. This will be Onward State's third year covering THON and we're pumped. One of the thing's that's gotten better about THON for OS over time is that now we actually know people who are dancing! That's why I was excited to see THON release this year's dancer list. Check it out after the jump.
When President Barack Obama visited Penn State last Thursday, he stopped by a roundtable of student leaders and shared some thoughts about key issues America faces. The video, as could be expected considering the techno-savvy White House that the President does, has now find its way to the Internet for all of us to enjoy. Check it out after the jump.
