Women’s Volleyball Heads to Lexington After Weekend Sweeps

Seconds before matches on Friday and Saturday night were set to begin, the Penn State Women's Volleyball team was acknowledged as being four-time defending national champions by the public address announcer at Rec Hall. That title will remain true for at least four more days. On Saturday night, the Nittany Lions played their final game at Rec Hall for the season, but the quest for a fifth consecutive national championship will continue next Friday at the regional semifinals in Lexington, Kentucky, the opponent being UCLA.

Last evening, for two hours, President Rodney Erickson and some of his esteemed colleagues hosted a town hall forum with students inside Heritage Hall. When one gets over the hilarious fact that there is such a law titled The Sunshine Act, this is a relatively serious piece of news. The Pennsylvania version of said law requires public bodies to announce meetings to the public twenty four hours before they occur in order prevent secret meetings.

Women’s Volleyball: The Quest for Five

The bracket for the NCAA Women's Volleyball tournament was released last night at 6 p.m. with Penn State (23-7, 16-4) earning the No. 8 seed out of the sixty four team field. The Nittany Lions will begin the first round Friday Night at 7:30 in Rec Hall against Big South Champion Liberty (20-12); they hope to end up at the Alamadome in San Antonio on December 17th to play for a fifth consecutive national championship.
