For those who enjoyed Football Eve last Friday Night, the Blue & White Society and Intercollegiate Athletics has you covered. They have teamed up to sponsor the annual event Rally in the Valley Friday Night in Rec Hall. Festivities begin at 8 p.m., but doors open at 7:30 p.m., with seats expected to fill up quickly.

While the excitement surrounding the Alabama game hasn't withered, the ability to tailgate has been hampered by nearly constant rain this week. The wash has already soaked many tents and campers in Paternoville and is now seeking tailgaters and anyone driving to Saturday’s clash between Penn State and third ranked Alabama. With rainfall predicted into Friday, several normally accessible parking lots will be closed this weekend.

Trailing two sets to zero and staring at the possibility of an 0-2 start to the season, a familiar face was introduced to the Rec Hall crowd during the Penn State vs. USC Women’s Volleyball match last Saturday night. Four-time national champion and 2010 National Player of the year Blair Brown was presented with an award from Penn State athletic director Tim Curley. Spectators roared in approval, but Brown was not suited up in uniform to help the struggling Nittany Lions. The Nittany Lions stormed back by winning three straight sets to shock No. 2 USC and send a message that a new era of Penn State volleyball is underway.
