
The university anticipates construction on a new building to begin in November 2019 with completion in December 2020. Development plans would require approval from State College Borough Council.

The trial will begin on Feb. 6 and is expected to last until March 6.

Most of the 42 fraternity houses are located within the R-2 district, which as of now, no longer permits fraternity houses.

The eight defendants are among 24 still facing charges in connection with the February 2017 death of Penn State fraternity pledge Timothy Piazza, who sustained fatal injuries after falling during an alcohol-fueled initiation event prosecutors have described as hazing.

"Based on our sales of parking passes and VIP passes, we’re going to have a bigger crowd this year than we’ve had for awhile."

The entire block will then be closed again to traffic after 7 a.m. on Tuesday for crews to perform roadway restoration work.
