I have a love/hate relationship with video game movies. I’ve played video games since I was four, but films based on them are a pimple on the butt cheek of Hollywood. Like two men at a prom in the South, it seems as though these two things just can’t go together.
Fast forward past the jump to find out.
In a feat that many believed to be impossible, former Houston Oilers safety Bo Eason will combine the worlds of football and dramatic theatre in his acclaimed one-man show, Runt of the Litter, at Schwab Auditorium.

The fine folks over at the Student Programming Association have continued to offer non-alcoholic activities in the HUB as part of SPA LateNight for a while now. A staple of LateNight is the free movies (the best kind of movies) playing in the HUB Auditorium Thursday through Sunday nights. For those who may be on the fence about spending their zero dollars on cinema in the HUB, this new weekly segment is perfect. HUB Titles will tell you what to expect from the film and give you a better sense of who to invite along.
Appropriately enough, we’ll start things off with an explosion with Iron Man 2 after the jump.
The HUB will call Eisenhower’s Goo Goo Dolls’ performance and raise it a free Hanson show at 10 p.m. this Saturday, August 28. According to the Student Programming Association’s twitter account, tickets will be available from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday. Tickets can be obtained on the first floor of the HUB for a reasonable sum of $0.00 with a student ID thanks to the SPA.

The 2005 Tony Award Winner for Best Musical, Monty Python’s Spamalot, is scheduled to bring laughs and non sequiturs to the Eisenhower Auditorium. The musical has the distinction of being “lovingly ripped off from the major motion picture Monty Python and the Holy Grail.” The show will start at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday, September 28 and 29.
The performance is a part of a Broadway tour that will bring King Arthur and his knights across the country. Inevitably, the Lady of the Lake will steal the show since that particular part will be played by Penn State alum Caroline Bowman, who graduated from the Musical Theatre program. This show will be Bowman’s national tour debut.
