Only building more anticipation for next school year, the Center for Performing Arts at Penn State released the specifics of its 2013-2014 season today. And, well, it doesn't disappoint. From musicals and dance to prehistoric reptiles, these are some of the highlights.
Don't panic. There's still time (but not much) to vote for your favorite candidate for Alumni Council, which governs the Penn State Alumni Association.
Alumni Association members have until May 31 to cast their ballots, and winners will be announced on June 1. The top vote-getters will claim 10 out of 86 seats on the council.
Dr. Cathy Wanner will replace honors program founder Jack Selzer as its new director on July 1, according to a Penn State news release. Wanner is a longtime Penn State professor of history, anthropology, and religious studies, specializing in socialist societies. Selzer said in a phone interview that he "couldn't be more pleased" with her appointment as director of the program. "She's a scholar immensely respected by her colleagues in the College of the Liberal Arts," he said. "She also has a tremendous breadth of knowledge."
