Do you miss the warmer days of Fall semester when frat bros in snapback hats flooded the campus? If so, tonight you can revel in your nostalgia because Penn State basketball snapbacks will be given out for free to students who come out to the Bryce Jordan Center tonight as the Lions face 19th-ranked Wisconsin at 8 pm. It also another Dollar Dog Night and fans will receive a free Penn State basketball Nerf Hoop set while supplies last.
Over the past few days, there has been an outpouring of support from the Penn State community to honor the late Joe Paterno. Another special recognition could ensure that the man who helped build Beaver Stadium will forever be linked to the football program.
This is a truly historic time for this University. It is the end of the Joe Paterno era. It is the end of the era of the man who initiated the growth of Penn State from a small farming college to what we see before us today. We all know what the man has done for our school, and I’m not talking about winning football games. The public memorial for Joseph Vincent Paterno will be held on Thursday at 2 pm in the Bryce Jordan Center. Afternoon classes should be canceled so students can honor and appreciate Coach Paterno with the rest of the Penn State family.
Following the death of the iconic Joe Paterno, the Penn State family has shown a beautiful outpouring of support to recognize his contributions to the University and the State College community. Another display of gratitude for Joe has been planned, stemming from a Facebook event for after Wednesday’s private funeral service.
The Penn State Men’s Basketball Team will welcome the 22nd ranked Fighting Illini to the Bryce Jordan Center for a Big Ten conference clash. The game is a primetime 9 pm start and will be broadcasted on ESPN2. For students, if you wear a gray Penn State shirt to the game, attendance is FREE. It also Dollar Dog Night, so there are really no reasons to miss out on this one.
Winter break is over. Syllabus week is over. As they say, it is back to reality. After a long winter break, I'm finding it hard to get motivated for my classes this semester.
