Fight On State iPhone Game: A Review

I'll admit it. I had extremely low expectations when I downloaded Fight On State, the new iPhone game developed by Penn State senior and Blue Band trumpeter Max Besong yesterday. Based on the simplicity of the preview, I totally expected to be trashing this game, but I was pleasantly surprised by the quality and how fun it is to play.

Big Sean to Perform at Hoops Madness Tonight

Penn State basketball season is getting closer and closer, with both the men's and women's opening scrimmage just 9 days away. To celebrate the beginning of both seasons, Penn State will welcome acclaimed Detroit rapper Big Sean to perform tonight at the annual Hoops Madness at historic Rec Hall, the longtime home of Penn State basketball prior to the arrival of the Bryce Jordan Center.

Knight Chair Malcolm Moran to Leave Penn State

Malcolm Moran, the Knight Chair of Sports Journalism and Society for Penn State's John Curley Center for Sports Journalism, is leaving Penn State. Effective in January 1, Moran will assume the role of director of the National Sports Journalism Center located in Indianapolis and associated with the Indiana University School of Journalism.

Penn State Basketball to Hold Open Practice

Penn State basketball fans will have a chance to get their first look at this year’s Nittany Lion Men's Basketball team as the squad hosts an open practice on Saturday at the Bryce Jordan Center. The practice begins at 10 a.m. and will be followed by a meet-and-greet with players and coaches along with pizza, refreshments, prizes, and giveaways. The practice will also feature an intrasquad scrimmage and should end around noon.

Penn State Students Are Good At Stealing Stuff From the Internet

With the help of ScanEye -- a website that monitors public torrent usage based on IP addresses -- Torrent Freak obtained a list of the most active universities using torrent networks. Penn State University ranks 25th in the country on the list with 381 "hits" since last November.

Chambers Adds Minnesota Point Guard to 2013 Class

Yesterday morning, Minnesota point guard Graham Woodward took to Twitter to announce that he had verbally committed to the Nittany Lions, becoming the fourth verbal commitment of the 2013 recruiting class. According to Rivals, the 6-foot, 165 pound Woodward is a 3-star recruit who just missed being listed among the top 150 players in the 2013 class. He also held offers from Washington State, Gonzaga, Xavier, and Miami (OH), among others.
