I'll admit it. I had extremely low expectations when I downloaded Fight On State, the new iPhone game developed by Penn State senior and Blue Band trumpeter Max Besong yesterday. Based on the simplicity of the preview, I totally expected to be trashing this game, but I was pleasantly surprised by the quality and how fun it is to play.

Penn State basketball fans will have a chance to get their first look at this year’s Nittany Lion Men's Basketball team as the squad hosts an open practice on Saturday at the Bryce Jordan Center. The practice begins at 10 a.m. and will be followed by a meet-and-greet with players and coaches along with pizza, refreshments, prizes, and giveaways. The practice will also feature an intrasquad scrimmage and should end around noon.

Yesterday morning, Minnesota point guard Graham Woodward took to Twitter to announce that he had verbally committed to the Nittany Lions, becoming the fourth verbal commitment of the 2013 recruiting class. According to Rivals, the 6-foot, 165 pound Woodward is a 3-star recruit who just missed being listed among the top 150 players in the 2013 class. He also held offers from Washington State, Gonzaga, Xavier, and Miami (OH), among others.
