Urschel and Enriquez Added to Heister Street Mural

Michael Pilato's famous mural on Heister St. has some new editions. Pilato unveiled the addition of former Penn State football player and Math Whiz John Urschel and Jasmin Enriquez, a recent graduate who started Only With Consent, a sexual violence awareness organization during the First Annual Herb Hand Pizza Crawl. The two were added to the Inspiration Mural as a surprise stop during the tour, which benefitted Uplifting Athletes and RAINN, the Rape, Abuse, and Incest National Network. The mural already features Kelsey Hirsch, the founder of Bands4RAINN, who raised more than $10,000 for the organization following Jerry Sandusky's arrest.

Victim Support Group Blasts New Paterno Statue

One sexual abuse victim support group, the Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests (SNAP), took their disapproval of the new Joe Paterno statue to an official capacity, and released a pointed statement denouncing the new statue.

Suicide Prevention to Bring Community Together for Out of the Darkness Walk

Central PA's 8th Annual Out of the Darkness Walk will be held on Sunday, April 27 at 1 p.m. at Sidney Friedman Park in State College. Over the years the event has raised $350,000 for AFSP. More importantly, half of the money that's raised goes to suicide prevention and awareness programs in our area.
