Just 18 Penn State students tested positive for COVID-19 through on-arrival testing this fall, according to the university.
"The conference has determined that if one of its member institutions is unable to play a conference contest due to COVID-19, that contest shall be declared a forfeit and will not be rescheduled."
Penn State ranked higher in specific categories, coming in at No. 9 for student life, No. 11 for partying, and No. 7 for Greek life.
The full event is completely free for students. According to SPA, LightsUP aims to celebrate the start of the school year and bring students together.
"The required vaccination is not in our plan at this point... What our fans can look forward to seeing is there are several adjustments as they relate to COVID."
