
Students were dressed in Christmas lights, Mexican wrestling masks and somberos but nothing else on Sunday night as girls and boys took a break from pouring over textbooks to streak down Mifflin Road and cross another thing off of their Penn State bucket list. Following President Obama's announcement that US Special Forces have killed Osama bin Laden, thousands of students gathered on Beaver Avenue between McAllister and Garner streets to celebrate the event. Costumed characters crowd surfed down the street, students shot off fireworks, papers were thrown from balconies, and even a small fire was started in Beaver Canyon. The Penn State men’s volleyball team advanced to the NCAA Tournament by winning the EIVA Championship over Springfield on Saturday night. The win was the Nittany Lions’ 13th-straight EIVA Championship victory, which increased their overall total to 23. Penn State will host the national tournament, with the semifinals on Thursday and the final on Saturday.

Former Penn State tailback Evan Royster was taken in the NFL draft by the Washington Redskins in the sixth round on Saturday. As the 177th pick overall, Royster will have his work cut out for him to make the Redskins' roster. Royster graduated from Penn State as the Nittany Lions' all-time leading rusher with 3,932 yards.

Former Penn State offensive lineman Stefen Wisniewski was taken 48th in the NFL Draft on Friday by the Oakland Raiders. Wisniewski will now try to follow up an illustrious four years at Penn State with a career in the NFL. At Oakland, he will have a chance to start right away due to the lack of depth on the Raiders' offensive line.
