Movin’ On Selects Four Acts from Battle of the Bands

Saturday night brought twelve local bands to Alumni Hall in the HUB for the Movin' On Battle of the Bands. The twelve bands competed for the top 4 spots and a place in the lineup for Movin' On, to be held on Friday April 29th, and open for headliners Little Big Town, Lupe Fiasco, and O.A.R. The top four bands selected by judges were So Long, Pluto in fourth, Atlas Soundtrack in third, The Zak Sobel Band in second, and 5 Cherry Lewis in first. The bands were judged based on originality, musicality, audience response, and overall stage presence.

For Lewis, UPUA Legitimacy Was Key

When people looked at Hillary Lewis, all they saw was a sorority girl. How could they know that she was a savvy political veteran, with experience dating back to elementary school? That she'd been the president of her middle school? That to her, the seemingly insurmountable task of making UPUA a legitimate student government wasn't just an aim, but a reachable attainment? Now, Lewis can look back and smile because she earned the last laugh, but, five years ago, it wasn't so easy to turn the other cheek.

Lady Lions Scouting Report: DePaul

The Penn State women’s basketball team advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2004. Penn State Wrestlers Claim National Title

The Nittany Lion wrestling team claimed the national championship this weekend at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia. It is Penn State’s first title since 1953. Head coach Cael Sanderson, the Big Ten Coach of the Year, won his first team title as a wrestler or coach in just his second season at Penn State. The squad earned 107.5 points on the weekend topping second place Cornell with 93.5 and third place Iowa with 86.5.
