This is… Onward State’s Thanksgiving Break

Onward State wishes you a very enjoyable Thanksgiving Break.

Meet up with those high school friends that you still talk to. Awkwardly run in to those you don't. Deal with living with your parents after a few months of independence. Do that work professors felt necessary to assign (Everyone knows Christmas break is the only true break).

Onward Staters are real people too, and will be taking full advantage of their time away from State College. As a result, the blog won't be updated as regularly over the next week. We are very thankful for your readership and support these past few months (and two years), and we look forward to coming back strong after break.

Lady Lions Needed Overtime to Beat Oakland

The Penn State Lady Lions needed a big comeback and overtime to beat Oakland on Thursday night. Zhaque Gray and Ariel Edwards both had 16 points to help the Lady Lions overcome a 14-point deficit.

Family Relations Takes THON Pageant for 2nd Year Running

Last night, over 1,200 people filled Eisenhower Auditorium to enjoy the second annual Mr. and Mrs. THON Pageant. Representatives from all 14 captain committees, one male and one female, competed for the title of Mr. and Mrs. THON.

Lady Lions Basketball Season Preview

The Penn State Lady Lions enter this season hoping to earn a spot in the NCAA Tournament after a disappointing end to last year's season. Beginning 2-0 with wins over Dayton and Rider and scoring over 90 points per game are good ways to start.

Valley Mag Releases Newest Issue

In the past four years and six issues, Valley Magazine has come a long way, featuring amazing cover girls, such as Blue Sapphires and THON Overalls. The newest issue came out this week and is available for anyone to pick up for free in the HUB.

D’Oh! UPUA Makes Circus of Doughnuts

I'll start with the good news: the University Park Undergraduate Association voted 34-1-1 in favor of a program to produce "Know Your Rights" cards for possible downtown run-ins with the law (gasp!) Also, Jessica Roberson was confirmed as the liaison from the Off-Campus Student Union (OSCU).
