Not only is it still snowing as if winter has no plans to go anywhere, but it's coming down out there more than it has in years. To much surprise, instead of marking up certain items, I've noticed a lot of stores downtown having big sales, some of which are things that could definitely come in handy in light of Snowpocalypse '10. Read on for a list of just a few of the things going on downtown that I noticed on my walk home the other day.
There’s a lot to look forward to (and even more to laugh about) in the newest Phollegian, which is to be entitled “Vallowegian.” As the name suggests, the issue will be released this Friday, February 12, in light of Valentine’s Day. We had the opportunity to inquire about the blood, sweat, and tears that go into producing something so hilarious so consistently. Who better to consult than Editor-In-Chief Rebecca Eisenberg?

The Deli Restaurant’s Z Bar brings back it’s Meet the Brewery series starting this Wednesday at 8pm and continuing all the way through April.
Tickets are on sale now for $10 at The Deli. What does your $10 get me, you ask? The event includes four to five selections of the representative brewery’s finest, rarest, and specialty beers along with family-style appetizers and prizes! Seems like a good deal to me. So pick your favorite brewery, or the one with the strangest name, or just go to all of them.

The problem with statistics is that they are almost always seen in a way that supports your own opinions. Whatever your politics or beliefs, bias happens.
Blogger and photographer Joanna Rees showed a great example of this in her recent post on Penn State salaries. Rees posits in her post that not only does Penn State discriminate between men and women, the University also values business over the arts. At this point, I will mention that Rees is working on a PhD in Art Education and she is including her findings in a paper for the Women's Caucus Enacting Change.

Did you enjoy all the snowfall we got over the weekend? Good, because State College is about to get whacked again. The National Weather Service is reporting that a snowfall will enter Happy Valley tonight and deposit another 5-10 inches of snow by Wednesday. Sound exciting? It should, there's a possibility (however slight) that if the storm hits late enough Wednesday morning (2-3am) that Penn State might experience something even more rare than a winning season for the basketball team, a snow day.
