Let’s Check In With Penn State Basketball, Shall We?

It's no secret that Penn State Men's Basketball is overshadowed by the football program - the latter draws enough people to make State College the state's third-largest city, while the former throws out every incentive it can just to sell student tickets. Football is the favorite son, basketball is the kid we tend to neglect.

Now that Bowl season is coming to a close, it's time to give that kid the attention he deserves - buy him an ice cream cone, ruffle his hair, and find out what he's into these days. We owe him at least that much.

Royster To Return, Navorro To NFL

While LB Navorro Bowman elected to declare for this year's NFL draft, RB Evan Royster announced that he will stay at Penn State to finish his degree and play out his senior season.

Three officers and two residence life officials knocked on the students’ door. After some questioning, the students turned over […]

Onward State’s Resolution for the New Year

This fall was Onward State's second full semester at Penn State. Our readers are probably aware that we spent much of it preparing to become a business. We have paused those plans.

Onward State is not unique in our approach to covering the news; we are hardly the first to crossbreed snark with objectivity. New (and old) media outlets all over the world been forced to develop new paradigms of entrepreneurial journalism. Reacting to this new era is occasionally fruitful, but always tentative. Frankly, nobody knows what the media will look like five years from now.
