Hockey Opener in Pegula Set for Homecoming Friday

Penn State Men's Hockey still has two more games to play at the Greenberg Ice Pavilion this weekend, but the date is already set for the first contest in Pegula Ice Arena next October.

Penn State Hosts Iowa, Chambers to Donate to THON

Penn State will again look to register their first conference win of the season tonight at the Bryce Jordan Center when Iowa comes to town for a 9 p.m. tip on ESPNU. With the game being played on the eve of THON, Penn State head coach Pat Chambers has pledged to donate $10 to the Four Diamonds Fund for every Penn State student who attends the game. Additionally, it will also be another dollar dog night.

With only four days to go, the spirit of THON is in the air, and one coach is taking it upon himself to make a difference.

This morning on B94.5, Coach Patrick Chambers pledged $10 to THON for every student who attends the basketball Thursday night against Iowa.

PSU Track and Field Smashes Records on the Road

The Penn State Men and Women's Indoor Track and Field squad left their marks across the country over the weekend. While the middle- and long-distance squads traveled to the Husky Classic at the University of Washington in Seattle, the jumps, sprints and throws groups traveled to the SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio. Sophomore Robby Creese, also known as Creese Lightening, competed in the Invitational Mile at the Husky Classic and ran to a school-record time of 3:57.11. Finishing third behind three professional runners and a 2012 Olympian, Creese held his own in a loaded pack and jump-started his sophomore season that catapulted him up the rankings list. Proceeding Creese's 3:57 mile, senior Sam Masters took over the record-book with his time of 7:54.52 for 3,000 meters -- which has stood since 1989.

Lady Lions Edge Spartans, 71-56

For the third season in a row, the Penn State Lady Lions clinched a 20-win season when they beat the Michigan State Spartans on Sunday afternoon at the Bryce Jordan Center with a score of 71-56.

No. 7 Men’s Volleyball has Sporadic Weekend

The Penn State's men's volleyball squad, currently ranked No. 7, had an interesting weekend as they faced defeated conference opponent St. Francis in straight sets before getting swept by Ohio State Saturday night.
