Coquese Washington Signs Contract Extension

Despite a scare this spring after word got out that she had interviewed with Michigan, Penn State Lady Lions baseball coach Coquese Washington signed a 5-year contract extension through 2017. Having played basketball herself at Notre Dame, many believed she would coach there to be closer to her home in Flint, Michigan. Thankfully, though, she's here for the long haul.

David Joyner to Remain Athletic Director Until 2014

President Rodney Erickson told Bloomberg that he plans to keep acting athletic director David Joyner in his position until at least 2014, when Erickson is planning on retiring.

Lady Lions Ranked #8 in Pre-Season Polls

A Possible Renewal of the Penn State-Pitt Rivalry

In case you haven’t noticed, Penn State does not really like Pitt. Well, if all goes to plan for Bill O’Brien and acting athletic director Dave Joyner, Penn Staters will be able to take their Pitt-bashing beyond Facebook memes and Twitter trash talk to the gridiron, as both schools hope to begin talks regarding the renewal of the Penn State’s historical rivalry with the Pitt Panthers.

State College Spikes Leave Pirates for Cardinals

After five years of serving as the Short-Season A affiliate to the Pittsburgh Pirates, the State College Spikes announced yesterday that beginning next season, they will once again become a member of the St. Louis Cardinals' minor league system.

PSU Single Game Hockey Tickets On Sale Now

Three different packages of season tickets went on sale for Penn State's first season of Division One ice hockey last week. As of 10 a.m. today, single-game are also on sale for the Nittany Lions' 15 home games at Greenberg Ice Pavilion.
