The former Penn State hockey forward became an unrestricted free agent this past Sunday.

"I absolutely see a spring season being viable for football and all of our fall sports. We turned to that pretty quickly Tuesday afternoon and evening."

The NCAA said a "short-term delay" could be necessary due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The wide receiver will move to New York on a one-year deal after a one-year stint with the Carolina Panthers.

"We cannot now, at this point, have fall NCAA championships because there's not enough schools participating."
