After a review from the Brown Athletic Hall of Fame Board of Directors, it was announced on Saturday that Joe Paterno would remain in his alma mater's Hall of Fame.

Today's football game at Beaver Stadium between the Penn State Nittany Lions (1-2) and the Navy Midshipmen (0-2) can be classified as many things. It was a really weird game, but more than any other statistics or career accomplishments, today's contest will be remembered as the day Bill O'Brien recorded his first win as Penn State's head coach.

Good afternoon from Beaver Stadium where the Penn State Nittany Lions (0-2) are set to take on the Navy Midshipmen (0-1). The Midshipmen are led by Ken Niumatalolo who is in his fifth year as head coach of the program. Today will be Bill O'Brien's third attempt at his first win after dropping games to Ohio and Virginia. Several service branches of the military will be honored as part of Military Appreciation Day.

I gave everyone the benefit of the doubt for the first home game. I figured, it's a new era, let everybody learn new traditions together. Some people did, and some people looked like they had never been to a sporting event ever, let alone a Penn State football game. This is obviously understandable, but here are a few tips for the newbies for Saturday's game.

The Penn State Nittany Lions have played several hundred home football games at Beaver Stadium. They are used to that part of the equation. What this current team is not used to is having two straight losses to start the season, and their opponent on Saturday. The last time the Nittany Lions (0-2) faced the Navy Midshipmen (0-1), Gerald Ford was president. It has been a long time--almost forty years-- since the teams met, but if the result is similar to the September 21, 1974 game, things are going to get really ugly in Happy Valley.
