The Pennsylvania Supreme Court has denied an NCAA request that would cancel a January trial on the legality of the sanctions. The NCAA filed an application for a writ of prohibition last month, but the state's highest court turned that down today according to AP's Mark Scolforo.

An anonymous gift of $1 million was donated to Penn State’s Department of Food Science on Tuesday to honor Food Science Professor Emeritus Phil Keeney. According to a press release, the donation will be used specifically to establish the Philip G. Keeney Food Science Department Head Excellence Fund. Proceeds from this fund will be used to support programs and new initiatives in food science research, extension, and teaching.
