A Penn State student was riding his bike on South Allen Street heading towards campus yesterday at around 4:30 p.m. when a car making a left turn onto Beaver Avenue failed to yield to oncoming traffic and struck him.

An anonymous gift of $1 million was donated to Penn State’s Department of Food Science on Tuesday to honor Food Science Professor Emeritus Phil Keeney. According to a press release, the donation will be used specifically to establish the Philip G. Keeney Food Science Department Head Excellence Fund. Proceeds from this fund will be used to support programs and new initiatives in food science research, extension, and teaching.
