
Every school year brings the opportunity for something new and different to the Penn State community. From a new head football coach to a Greek life scandal to the girl who tames the squirrels, this year has seen its fair share of roller coaster ups and downs. Here is a list of the top ten people of note for the 2012-2013 school year.

At Homecoming's annual Legacy Celebration in the HUB earlier this afternoon, the Alumni Relations Committee announced that Anne Ard would serve as the honorary grand marshal for the Homecoming parade this fall.
Ard has served as the Executive Director of the Centre County Women's Resource Center for 16 years. She has also served as the Chair of the Centre County Domestic and Sexual Violence Task Force on the Criminal Justice Advisory Board.

These spirit-lifting rumors have been circulating for so long now that you had gotten your hopes up, and you're even more depressed about finals week now that you know it will be a seemingly infinite puppy-less abyss.... Shhhh, there, there. If it's any consolation, these puppies are just as sad that you aren't playing with them as you are.

Two very different worlds are not so far apart at Penn State, and most people don’t even realize it. Pieces of this history are all around us, and we often fail to recognize it.

The Blue-White football game wasn't the only thing happening on the field this past Saturday. The Homecoming Executive Committee also revealed the 2013 logo for this year's celebration.

"This wasn’t a position that had initially been on my radar screen," Jones said. "But when I did the campus visit several weeks ago, it didn’t take me too long to figure out I’m in a special place."
