On January 21, 1965 -- a date that would one day celebrate his namesake -- Martin Luther King Jr. spoke to a crowd of 8,000 people at Rec Hall. You've probably already seen the historical marker outside of the gymnasium -- one of 63 on Penn State' campus. The 6,300 word speech talks of brighter days to come and Dr. King's vision to change the world. The Penn State Board of Trustees met earlier this afternoon at the Penn Stater Conference Center as part of its bimonthly meeting. A number of motions were voted on, including the election of the new Board of Trustees chair and vice chair, won by Keith Masser and Stephanie Deviney, respectively.

Bill O'Brien is adding another award to his trophy case, this time the Bear Bryant Coach of the Year Award which he won tonight in Houston, Texas.

State Senator Jake Corman announced today that the NCAA has agreed to not disperse any of the $12 million already paid by Penn State as part of the NCAA sanctions. Corman is suing the NCAA to keep all of the fine money inside Pennsylvania, which is entirely separate from Governor Corbett's lawsuit to just throwout the sanctions.
