The College of Engineering has introduced a new addition to the ever-expanding Penn State blogosphere. The new Penn State College of Engineering blog aims to share the updates and achievements of Penn State’s world-class engineers to a wider audience.

I’m not the same person that I was a year ago. I was a very involved student at this University, giving tours as a Lion Ambassador, writing posts for this blog, taking classes as a Marketing major, etc. And all of those things remain constant today. But a part of me changed – changed for the better, I think.

Kofi Ofori, a 2001 Penn State graduate, created this mixed media exhibition to address themes of corruption, deception, ignorance, and a modern moral poverty.

When Americans get sick, we drive to the nearest health clinic to visit a doctor. In rural South Africa, it is often times more practical for the care to come to the patient. Penn State engineering students work in South Africa to bring improvements to these mobile medical clinics.

We all know that Penn State is highly regarded one of the best science and engineering schools and as a world-class research institution. Well, now we’re getting another weapon in our research arsenal. The Titan S/TEM (that’s scanning/transmission electron microscope for all you non-engineering nerds) is one of the world’s most powerful electron microscopes, and its on it’s way to it’s new home in the Millenium Science Complex.
