
The Penn State DataFest's inaugural competition was held this weekend, pitting student teams together in hopes of solving some statistical problems. The teams were presented with data from Edmunds.com, a car research site for automobile consumers.

THON is the preeminent spring student-run cancer fundraising event, but Penn State Relay for Life is doing its part in the fight against the disease. The 24-hour relay walk, which takes place on the university's outdoor track, raised an outstanding $103,743.34 this weekend, surpassing the million dollar mark overall.

"Hey Penn State! What a diverse crowd we have here today. I see all kinds of white people in this audience!"

Neha Gupta, the 2014 International Children’s Peace Prize winner, is taking her good deeds to Penn State. Gupta's been in contact with the university in an effort to bring her organization, Empower Orphans, to campus, and hopes to get students excited and involved in the effort. To date, Empower Orphans has raised $1.7 million and helped 25,000 children.

Relay For Life, the annual overnight walk that benefits the American Cancer Society, will hold its Penn State event this weekend, beginning at the Penn State outdoor track at 2 p.m. on Saturday and concluding 24 hours later on Sunday afternoon.
