The UPUA Elections Commission attempted to explain its rationale in choosing a new at-large representative after last week's election snafu.
Last night, two Penn State alumni helped kick off UPUA’s Sexual Violence Awareness and Prevention week. Jasmin Enriquez and Mike Friedman’s interactive presentation aimed to ignite a campus culture change by furthering discussion on consent, rape, and sexual assault.
With April being Sexual Assault Awareness month, UPUA, along with the help of numerous other organizations, has organized over a dozen events to help raise sexual violence awareness at Penn State. Events include everything from Chipotle fundraisers for the Centre County Women's Resource Center, to the "Walk a Mile in Her Shoes" exercise, and additionally, each day UPUA will be at tables at the HUB to help raise awareness.
Upon finding discrepancies in some ballots cast in Wednesday's UPUA Elections, the Elections Commission has conducted a recount, resulting in a change in the election of an at-large candidate.
