Penn State dominated Maryland Friday night after securing an early lead in its senior night win.
The Nittany Lions closed their first game of the season without finding the back of the net.
Along with the No. 1 preseason spot, Tessa Janecke was named the CHA Preseason Player of the Year.
The win marked Penn State women's volleyball's 700th victory in Rec Hall.
Ultimately, Saturday is a test to see if Penn State has learned how to be better at stopping mobile quarterbacks and if it can capitalize on the opposing quarterback's glaring weaknesses.
