The #4 Penn State women's volleyball team got off to a great start in the Big Ten on Wednesday night, as they defeated Nebraska 3-1 in front of a packed Rec Hall in the conference opener. This was Penn State's third win over a Top-10 opponent already this season.
Despite a scare this spring after word got out that she had interviewed with Michigan, Penn State Lady Lions baseball coach Coquese Washington signed a 5-year contract extension through 2017. Having played basketball herself at Notre Dame, many believed she would coach there to be closer to her home in Flint, Michigan. Thankfully, though, she's here for the long haul.
A town hall in the City of Brotherly Love turned quite un-loving for Tom Corbett as protests broke out against the Pennsylvania governor on issues ranging from welfare spending, Marcellus shale, the defunding of education and -- you guessed it -- Penn State. I really wish I didn’t have to do this. However, due to a recent trip back to Joie de Crêpe, I feel like I need to write a retraction of some sort. On Wednesday, October 3, the Bryce Jordan Center will be alive with the sounds of the truth's first-ever college music tour. The truth campaign will be bringing Cobra Starship and Outasight to the BJC for a free show starting at 7 p.m.
For the third time in ten months, students had the opportunity to address Penn State administrators at an open Town Hall Forum. Marianne Alexander, an alumni-elected trustee, is the first trustee to attend one of these sessions. Students, and others, asked the administrators about the Freeh Report, NCAA sanctions, and the University's relationship with the Commonwealth.
